Effect of dietary Thyme vulgaris L. , Borage oficinalis and Synbiotic supplementations on broilers performance

Abstract
The objective of the study was a comparative evaluation effects of diets contain Thyme, Borage, and synbiotic supplementations on performance, immune system and some carcass traits of broiler chickens. The experiment performed as randomized block design in 6 treatments, with 4 replicates, each including 8 chickens. One hundred and ninty two male ROSS 308 broiler divided in 6 experimental diets comprising Thyme (0/50 percent), Thyme (0/75 percent), Borage (0/50 percent), Borage (0/75 percent), and, the diet with addition of synbiotic and the last treatment, control diet without any additives. Based on results obtained, in the whole period of breeding additives resulted in reduction of food intake compared with the control treatment (P<0.05). In the final period, higher Body weight Gain were observed following use of diet contained synbiotic in compared with all other trial groups but only showed significant difference with Thyme (0/50 percent) (P<0.05). Feed additives whith the significantly improved feed conversion ratio compared with the control treatment (p<0/05). Feed additives had no significant effects on the Internal organs, blood sugar, HDL and LDL cholesterol measure serum (P> 0.05) but The total cholesterol and triglyceride level of serum were significantly reduced for all other trial groups that for synbiotic was lowest (P<0.05). The highest concentration of serum protein was for symbiotic. Treatments had no significant effects on the number of red blood cell, level of Hemoglobolin and Hematocryte (P> 0.05). The minimum number of White blood cell was for control and Thyme (0/50 percent) treatments. Treatments had no significant effects on the Heterophile (P 0.05), but The highest percentage of Lymphocyte and lowest percentage of ratio Heterophile to Lymphocyte was for symbiotic treatment (P0.05). The results indicated that diets containing feed additives in compared with the control treatment had beter effect on the broilers performance and some blood parameters.
