Effects of Lactobacillus plantarum )KC426951) on growth performances, intestinal bacteria, blood and immune factors of fish rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss)fry
Abstract
The present study was conducted to evaluate the effect of Lactobacillus plantarum (KC426951) isolated from the intestine of rainbow trout on growth factors , bacterial flora in the intestine , blood and immune factors of rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) in the spring and summer of 1392. Rainbow trout weighing 3.56±2.24 g were acclimated to the rearing conditions for 2 weeks in a private rearing center (Siahkal Ashkrab), Guilan Province, Iran prior to the experiment. The fish were randomly divided into 6 groups of containing 540 fish fry were. Water quality parameters of freshwater consisting of temperature, dissolved oxygen content, and pH were 17.3± 0.3 ?C, 8.5±0.43 mg-l, and 7.4 ± 0.26, respectively. Five groups of fish (each group containing 90 fish) were fed with diets containing 106 (T1), 107 (T2), 108 (T3), 109 (T4), 1010 (T5) cfu g-1 of L. plantarum and control group (T6) without diet containing probiotics were fed for 60 days. Fish were fed 3% biomass per day provided in equal rations. The results showed that final weight, final length , growth rate , percent weight gain and average daily growth in T2 and treatment 5 were in the lowest value. Also, highest level of FCR was observed in T2 and the minimum level showed at T5(p<0.05). The highest total count of lactic acid bacteria were obtained in the intestine of T4(p<0.05).High levels of red blood cells in T5 (898333/3±10408/3), white blood cells in T4 (10833/3±702/4), the volume of red blood cells in T1 (508/7±3/8 ) , hemoglobin concentration in T5 (11/2±0/15), Hematocrit in T5 (42±2), the enumeration of lymphocytes in the control group (69/67±1/53), and the abundance of neutrophils in T5 (39±1) were observed significantly(p<0.05). Also, high levels of total immunoglobulin, IgM and lysozyme were obtained significantly in T4, (20/33±1/15), (39±2/65), and (40/67±2/08), respectively (p<0.05). Maximum carcass protein was observed in T4, and low fat content is related to the control treatment (p<0.05). According to the results, use of L. plantarum can act as a positive probiotic in rainbow trout feed via improvement of fish growth performance, and the immune system .
